The company has its own policy regarding the rules for submitting medical statement, whether sent during your absence or after you return to work and sometimes there are some companies that do not require to use doctors notes if you are absent for a day or two.
In a normal company regulation, it is necessary for employees to provide information by showing supporting documents such as medical records.
Because inside of doctors notes there was information stating that the doctor has examined the employee mentioned at a certain date and time and includes the date the employee must be prohibited from working because of illness. The letter also explains if the employee has a contagious disease so that the company gives permission or special treatment in accordance with the provisions stated in the medical record.
In case of injury, the company may not immediately ask for a doctor's letter. However, in the event of a severe injury, such as a broken arm or other impairment that results in disability, the employer may request a doctor's letter verifying the disability and support needs. If disability prevents employees from doing their jobs, employers may face a decision to lay off employees or keep them on pay on a part-time basis. In situations like this, a doctor's certificate is very useful and influences the company's decision on the continuation of the employee.
